Knoll International

USA

Knoll International (originally Knoll, Inc.) is an American furniture and office furniture manufacturer, founded in 1938 by Hans and Florence Knoll in New York. The company shaped the modern design of the 20th century through close collaboration with design greats such as Eero Saarinen, Harry Bertoia, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer. Iconic models such as the Womb Chair, the Tulip Chair, the Barcelona Chair and the Diamond Chair were designed by Knoll. Florence Knoll also developed the Knoll Planning Unit, an innovative interior design concept that combined spatial planning and furniture design. Since the merger with Herman Miller in 2021, Knoll has been part of the MillerKnoll Group and remains a central brand in the field of functional but elegant design.
