Gae Aulenti (1927-2012) was an Italian architect and designer, known for museum and interior designs such as the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the Palazzo Grassi in Venice, where she combined historical architecture with modern interior design, and also created furniture, lighting and furnishings that are characterised by clear lines, functionality and sculptural aesthetics.
